be nice, be respectful, have fun! all fairly self-explanatory. respect your fellow players, try not to get into any drama filled arguments and enjoy the game! please plot with your fellow players remember the circus is an extremely close-knit community, with many of its members being related by blood or through marriage. even those who don't share kin certainly share living areas, as well as working together in performances. so try to branch out of your usual group (we're all guilty of it) and interact with as many players/characters as you can. runs plots by the moderator i really want to give people the opportunity to get creative with character development and relationships. that being said, any major plots (pregnancies, marriages, injuries etc.) should please be run by the mod first, simply to ensure we don't get too many of the same thing in a short period of time. list potential triggers obviously this game is going to be dealing with mature themes and not everyone will be comfortable with them. for that reason any logs/scenes rated pg-13 should list why before the cut tag. this way we can make sure everyone enjoys the game. don't cross ic/ooc lines if you have an issue with some ooc, don't let it bleed into character interactions in-game. by the same vein if your character is having an issue with another, don't make the mistake of believing the player hates you. if there is a serious issue though, bring it to the mod, please don't let it fester. activity while this is a laid-back, character focused game, the players are expected to contribute on a weekly basis. this might simply be posting a couple of comments in journals, it doesn't always have to be a new post or scene, but without player activity the game simply won't last. activity checks will be carried out on an informal basis every two weeks but the idea is that as long as you're doing something, they won't need to become formal. and the mod's life will be made much easier as a result. hiatuses obviously there are exceptions to the above and life getting busy is just one of these. if you need to hiatus for any reason, just let the mod know. abide the holds limit at present you can apply for four holds at a time and only two of these can be main acts. character drops if for any reason a character isn't working out or you realise you've taken on too much, just let the mod know. given the nature of the travelling circus it isn't uncommon for people to leave... one way or another. on that note, consistently inactive characters might find themselves redlighted.
